Last night I emailed a young friend is California hoping to meet up for lunch or dinner when I am over there in a couple of month's time. His response this morning included the following:

I've tentatively been offered an inflight team member position with Virgin America so if I do indeed do that, I will start training on June 4

Seems like it's getting nearer [y]

Sooner the better! What options for Vegas '07 I wonder? Is your friend amongst the first intake?

According to my sources :D they did hire a group for the proving runs but they have not yet been through training yet and he is part of the first big wave of new hires. The intention is to hire about 44 crew members per month.

I am informed that the initial route will be to JFK but no other details. LAS is among the cities to be opened within 9 months and they are already hiring for management there.

Perhaps we could get Scrooge to consider a role as Vegas station manager!
