Used to be Stella Artois and Heineken - not sure if it has changed lately?

As far as bitters go, once upon a long ago they used to do London Pride, but you had to ask for it - dunno if they still do, I've mostly switched to Vodka & Tonic onboard (apart from wine with the meal) [8D]

Cheers

Don't think the do London Pride (unless they hide it away until it is asked for;) )

Stella / Heinekin are the choices, as far as I can remember

ISTR that I really had to get them to look for it - not many cans on board, and not often asked for. Some of the FAs didn't even know they carried it! Mind, this is going back to my last econ flight - in 2002 :D

Cheers

OK the beers in economy are Stella Artois and Heineken. London Pride disappeared from the bars quite a while ago.

The wines in economy are now Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The spirits are **racking brain** Virgin Vodka, Gordons Gin, Bacardi, Grants Whisky, Three Barrels Brandy, Martini and Baileys. We also have Malibu on the Caribbean flights.

Sorry if I've missed any out

Thanks Tinkerbelle - with no bitters on offer (even LP was better than nothing) I think this may well have been why I started on vodka & tonic inflight :D

Cheers

Alex, is no sacrifice too great, forcing yourself to drink G&T in order to fly VS, true dedication :D;)

Tinkerbelle, I seem to remember having some cans of MGD on one flight back from the US, or maybe I was just hallucinating :D[:o)]

Definitely had cans of MGD coming back on United, but don't recall seeing it on VS.

I'm beginning to think beer doesn't taste quite right in the somewhat artificial atmosphere in the pressurised tube, so i'll stick to spirits in future. I also think the more transparent the drink, the better you will handle it and the less hangover effect it will produce (sure i read that somewhere :D:D - something to do with toxin levels? Sounds pretty stupid of course...)

In that respect, it's G&Ts all round, and wine.

We used to have Miller up until recently when it was replaced with the Heineken

I'm sure they have Cobra on the DEL flights too.

Thanks,

Guess it is the pressure, but all beer tastes like sh*t at 35000 feet. These days I avoid the booze on planes, as it makes the first beer when you arrive that much nicer :D

Thanks Tinkerbelle, glad it wasn't me :)

Dark spirits are generally considered, along with fortified wines, sherry port and the like to produce much worse hang-overs. Gin, vodka, white rum only do it if you drink too much ;)

Don't quote me on this, but I'm sure the equation is that the effect of alcohol is doubled during flight.

Thanks,
Richard

I tend to avoid both beer and wine when flying, because of the effect that pressure has on both the taste and the effect of the alcohol. Sadly, it does little to dull the taste or Virgin Cola. (Am now off to the 'What would you change . . . ' threads to see if anyone's mentioned that one!)
