PE or not?

Afternoon everyone!

I am wondering if anybody knows if the gift miles on the VA website will be up and running soon? I have already bought my maximum to fly myself and a friend for a one way Economy flight from EWR to LHR, but need a measly 3000 to get up to PE and was going to get daddy to help me out [}:)]

Also, dilema here... Do I:
A - keep my flights as they are in ecomomy (EWR-LHR VS2, next day catch a BD flight to GLA)
B - change my flights to the day before at a cost of £25pp and £50pp on BD to use miles upgrade as their is no availability on the 30th (if I get my miles that is)
or C - Wait to the airport and hope there is availability on Aug 30th!

Tough call on A B or C - I guess it depends how disappointed you'll be if you DON'T get into PE... Personally, I'd go for A and then C, unless you can get it sorted sooner.

Have you tried calling FC to ask if they can do the gifting for you?

In terms of your "PS" - no, you do not get tier points or miles on reward flights, unless it is a revenue ticket which has been upgraded with miles (and then, you earn on the revenue ticket class you paid for).

I think A, then C is the way to go... Although I have never done economy on a flight longer than 3 hours I think I can cope [:#] Thanks!
