Nothing like the truth getting in the way of a good story...

(a) VS don't fly to Bangkok;
(b) VS don't fly 747s to Sydney;
(c) EK don't have passenger carrying 747s;
(d) Why is a Virgin spokeswoman discussing an Emirates flight?

This is truly indicative of why I have such disdain for journos.

Cheers, Howard

I can only assume that nobody on this thread is familiar with the quality of the Western Mail. This is pretty much standard fare and is in no way a deviation from their usual standards. Accuracy, integrity and honesty are all concepts that the WM finds completely alien.

I think they have software that pulls random sentences from other more reputable news outlets and puts together the dross that has been their hallmark for years.

I did like this bit "The disruption was the last thing JenkinsÕs men needed at the end of an arduous 24-hour haul" when the last thing Jenkins's men needed at the end of an arduous twenty-four hour journey are the two inevitable drubbings that we are going to receive from a very disgruntled Australian national side who aren't at all happy that we left the bulk of our tier one players back home.

Oh and I very much doubt the plane sat on the 'Runway' for three hours at Melbourne, that might just be a tad dangerous.

Can Birmingham take 744's?
