Manage my flights

I have just tried to check my flight home (Monday) to see my requested seat was still the same.

Unfortunately the seat map will not appear and hasn't done for a few days. Now I know that there have been a few problems, but is it that once all the pre-bookable allocation is gone the map will only show if other seats are available or is it possible that my seat request has been changed. I've always been able to see my seat before but maybe that the cabin hasn't always been full.

Hi Jilly,

Why not just call VS to check?

Because I thought it may be simply that the cabin was full, V-flyer would be more polite that the US line and it wouldn't cost me 1.50 per minute.

Thanks anyway

Ah, got ya.

Well, USUALLY, it won't give you a seatmap if you're within a certain window, or if the flight is full - but if you've already had seats allocated, it should show up.

I'd call them. The US line is a toll-free number - 1-800-862-8621

I got through and they still have my original request of 8A as allocated.

I asked why the on line seat map wouldn't show - and was told it could be the weather!!

New one on me.

This has happened to me, over the years I have alsways been able to regularly check the seat map even if I didn't want to change it and even if the seats are all already taken. Forme its been ok since Jan to see them and they has been full on the outbound for months
( except the usual 4 suits by the bar that are blocked anyway )

Now my outbound says seatmap unavailable allocated at check-in.

All I can think of is that the system has changed and you can't see the map if its full anyway, Juliet confirmed this to me today.

I think from my own personal experience that different departments at VA don't communicate with each other well which must make it difficult to deal with public enquiries.
