Any particular differences between VS3 and 45?

.....other than one leaves at 9:30 am and the other at 14:00 or thereabouts (both LHR-JFK as far as I know)

Does the early flight get busy, long customs queues etc?

So in theory this could be THE question :)

P.S. Not my normal flight to NY - think I might have taken the 45 a couple of times. Not sure there is much of a difference with the flights - apart from the 3 is a 346 and the 45 is a 747. Getting from JFK into Manhattan will be easier with the 3 as it is outside rush hour but then it's an earlier start.

I took the VS3, even though it is an early start, there were no lines at Customs, and the traffic was fine when we got to NY. I have read few times on here, that some prefer VS3 for the same reasons. Our flight in June on VS3 was full, but we were going near the 4th July holiday, so that could of been something to do with that.

My experience of the 45 is that it leaves you behind the Air India flight at JFK which resulted in an hour wait to get through Immigration [:(!]

Other people will tell you that the 3 get's you through quickly as there's no alot of other flights at that time :D

I was on the VS003 on Wednesday 31st January(PE). The flight was completly full but this was only due to the fact that people had re-booked onto VS due to the supposed BA Cabin Crew strike (which never happened).
Despite this I was 3rd in the immigration queue and was through the airport in under 20 minutes.

I have flown on the VS3 quite a few times since moving to BDA as it allows plenty of time for my connecting flight from JFK. In my recent experience I have not encountered long queues at immigration when arriving on this flight.

The only down side of the VS3 is the early start and not long spent in the CH if you're flying UC.

Definitely the VS3 - you still have the day ahead of you that way[y]

What could be better: wake up, relaxing trip across the pond followed by a quick shower and change before hitting NY[8D]

45.
