I will be flying out Upper Class to St Lucia on 5th March 2004 on VS031 and returning on VS032. I would like to know if anyone has any pictures or websites of the cabin (Not the new Upper Class).

Best Regards

Richard -- it's rather unlikely to be J2000 which is what is at that link! Dunno if there are any pictures around of the Alitalia planes...

Smack my hands for not reading the question correctly.

Yes there are a few interior shots on airliners.net of the Alitalia config for J.

Thanks,
Richard

The planes without J2000 are G-VGAL, G-VLIP, G-VROM, G-VROS and G-VROY. They were a cancelled Alitalia order that VS picked up cheap. Other than the 747-200s (either in the desert or flying ex-MAN) so far as I am aware all the rest have J2000. All the bucket and spade routes are operated by the Alitalia planes.

So I suppose my next question is, how do the UC seats on the Alitalia planes compare to the J2000 ?? Has anyone compared the two.

I've flown plenty on both (flying to ANU tomorrow in UC in fact). J2000 is almost love'em or hate'em. The best sleeping position is slightly cradled but that stops you sleeping on your side. Personally I find the lack of footroom when the bed is flat to be an issue.

I have no problem with the Recaros on the Alitalia planes, but they are the "standard" old sort. Personally I don't think there is much in it.
