Can I earn TP with other carriers?

I booked my July trip through the FC recently - well I tried to. I wanted to go LHR-JNB, JNB-JFK and then JFK-LHR but they couldn't do the JNB-JFK leg due to some problem with ticketing between VS and SAA. So I've booked my first and last flight with FC and sorted out the SSA flight myself.
What I want to know is will I recieve TP for the SSA flight or will I have to settle just for the miles?

Sounds a bit strange in regards to your issue with FC not being able to book the SA sector.
But main question, yes you will earn TP's as long as it's in a qualifying fare class for SA.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply...
My flight from JNB-JFK is broken into two legs and stops in DAK so after this trip I'll be only 3 points from AU.
One final question - I live in the north so will actually traveling MAN-LHR and LHR-MAN with BD for this trip. Do you get TP for trips with BD?

I have just booked a fairly complicated itinerary with the FC Premier Team including several SAA sectors (MAN-LHR-JNB-CPT-ELS-JNB-BFN-JNB-LHR-MAN). All seemed OK, but they had significant problems calculating the fare for the SAA legs. They were then unable to confirm my first choice flights on the ELS-JNB route (still don't know why - suspect it might have been due to a timetable change). Booking onto a different SAA flight (1hr later) worked fine though.
I have to say that the person who helped me at FC Premier was absolutely brilliant - definitely went way beyond the call of duty, including giving me her email address in case of any problems (which I have used!) etc.
One question from me if anyone can help. I am flying D with VS and therefore have a 30kg luggage allowance. All my internal flights also have a 30kg luggage allowance. Unfortunately the highest fare seats on the BD MAN-LHR-MAN sectors only allow me 20kg luggage. Does anyone know how strict BD are with luggage? Will I be able to get away with a higher allowance (up to 30kg) on their flights as I am connecting to the VS flight which has a higher allowance?
Regards and thanks
Ian

Ian, are the BD sectors booked on the same itinerary/ticket/PNR as the international legs? That'll be a key deciding factor.

Yes - all on the same ticket and PNR.

Then yes, you'll be allowed the higher allowance. [y]

In that case the higher weight is the one to go by.
