Extortionate change of accom fee

I sent an email to VH customer services asking if I could change from One hotel on Idrive to another and if so would i be able to keep my 10% discount and my refund for the broken suite I got last year.
I got a lovely email back saying yes of course you can change and we will let you keep your discounts and we will not charge you an admin fee ( your a regular loyal customer yada yada yada ) just ring customer services and they will do it for you.
Anyway the difference in price between the two hotels for the same time is £30 more for the one I want.
So I telephone the number and get a nice sounding Indian lady who demands to know who said I can keep my discount ( so I tell her )
she says ok fine I will let you know the new costings.
Guess how much....£900, i ask why the big difference to move from one hotel on Idrive just accross the road that has an almost identicle price on the website.
She told me that because I am changing I must pay for the hotel and accom seperately and not as a package and it works out more expensive...wot complete rot. I told her to keep it the same and change nothing. This is totally stupid, its five monmths to the holiday and there is availability.
If there are any customer services agents for Vh that can clarify why its an extra £900 I would much appreciate it.

Update on this story, after writing this decided to ring The Frequent Virgin Club and ask the same question, got the Accom moved to a bigger suite in the same hotel i wanted, extra cost £30, so why was I told the extra cost was £900 only ten minutes earlier, the mind boggles, talk about consistancy.

Well done egg. Seems that sometimes you just need to speak to someone who knows what they're doing, which clearly the first agent you spoke to didn't.

This place has much better reviews on tripadvisor and includes free disney transport, an indoor and outdoor pool, free cooked breakfast and free cocktails every night, plus its got complimentary wifi. So i think I did quite well.

Out of curiosity (and forward planning) which one is it as it sounds like a good base.

Its between The Mercado and The pointe on IDrive on the other side of the road, I guess very close to Crazy Pirate Golf and Bahama Breeze.
It was the free breakfasts and transport to the parks that swayed me.

Interestingly I just filled in a VH questionnaire following our recent trip and I put some stuff in the comments section regarding the Indian call centre - they are OK dealing with standard bookings but just veer a little off the beaten path and they are completeely useless!!
I am sure you made mention of the £900 "charge" to the FVC rep?

Have to say we do love the Wyndham Orlando Resort on iDrive (just opposite Popeyes and a short walk from Denny's .... yum!). Well done on getting the change made as it should have been not some stupid made up price!

I have loved it too in the past, 7 annual stays, but the rooms are getting grubby and the staff a bit mardy. There gave been some muggings of tourists on IDrive in properties where the doors are outside of the building and being that I am taking an 8 year old I thought it prudent to change.

Slightly O/T, butsave for the Arctic Monkeys, it's a while since I heard anyone use that term...actually, scratch that, I'm sure I heard it whilst up in Sheffield on Saturday. Possibly the same time I was being addressed as "me flower" by the taxi driver.

Trust me they have got Mardy arsed lol. Last year I telephoned to
reception from my room to tell them what a wonderfull job the housekeeping ladies had done, the reply was "so whats your problem sir!"
The pool heat wasn't on, so I asked a pool attendant when it would be turned on, my answer was "this pool has never been heated, people think it is because the sun shines on it" which was odd because the previous six visits there where jets of hot water all around it.
At the bar I asked for a Long Island Iced Tea ( $10 + tip ) but go easy on the ice. It came without crushed ice but topped to the brim with coke, when I took it to the bar and said this isn't a LIIT, the barman said "just because you don't want ice doesn't mean you get more alchohol". My reply was I asked for less ice not more coke, or more alchohol.

I was quoted £350 per person just for a room upgrade for a holiday in Cuba. Special occasion an all that so called VH and was answered by a nice chap down south who sadly could not help and put me though to India. Was then qouted £350 eac which would add another £1750 to the holiday, just for a Ocean View. I don't think so!

More of a Waffle House man myself since I experienced their hash browns - scattered, smothered and covered.
