FC Reward Limo transfers on Z fares

Hi chaps and chapesses,

In the guide to fare codes on this site, it says that even if you are travelling on a Z fare, it's possible to use FC miles to buy limo transfers.

However, the UC reservations agent told me that this is not possible - admittedly, I didn't try the trick of ringing back and talking to a different person to see if they applied the rules differently!

It's unclear in the FC rewards guide too. Which is it?

You can't

You can only spend miles on limo transfers if you are travelling on a G fare ticket (Upper Class reward flight)

I have just received a letter from the SRB Office following a problem I had with a lack of a limo turning up for my last UC flight. I had emailed them with a list of all my current UC flights and asked them to confirm if a limo would be provided.

Most of the flights were confirmed as z class but they proundly stated "It may be of interest that car collections can be arranged in conjunction with your Upper Class flights through flying club for 10,000 miles per journey."

I sometime think they just say no, when they really do not know the correct answer.

My advise is to ring up again and say you can book with a Z class!

I spoke to FC Premier Team yesterday who told me I can't redeem miles for limo transfers on my nov BGI trip (Z class fare).

But should I ring back and talk about eurohill's experience? Would be good to have some clarity (and LGW is such a pain in the 'ahem' from N1)

So, following the delays in getting back from LHR on my last Z trip (see http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2212 for the trip report), I decided to mention to customer services what looks like inconsistency in the limo policy, while at the same time commending the excellent crew I had on the flights.

The email has been referred to Richard's office, both to note the nice comments about the crew, and to investigate the apparent descrepancy in reward limo policy.

I'll keep you posted.

To sum the official word from SRB's office...

When handling issues such as no-shows by the car service VS may offer a goodwill gesture of FC bonus miles, and/or authorise the use of FC miles to book a chauffeur driven car with a Z-class ticket in the future.

Otherwise, it is not possible to request reward limo service with a Z-class ticket.

So it was definitely a special case for Eurohill!

RM's fare class code guide on this site needs updating to reflect this.

I made a booking for my Xmas/New Year SFO trip outbound in PE with inbound in UC (Z) - I upgraded the PE leg to UC with miles. On Thursday morning, I decided to take the plunge to use 10k miles and book a limo to pick me up from SFO - no problem (might even book one to take me to LHR yet :D). Enquired as to whether I could do the same on the return - not possible because it's a booked Z fare rather than an upgrade with miles.
