Can anyone recommend any arrival lounge options for arrivals on VS flights after Revivals closes?

I am flying on VS24 next week and need to go to dinner in London before heading out into the countryside.

I don't know if this is any help to you but showers are available in Heathrow

Has anyone made any enquiries to VS about this? Can they make arrangements with a partner airline lounge?

I seem to recall that there were arrangements with one of the Holiday Inns, or similar, but I may be confused. [:I]

As Fozzy says, a call to VS may hold the answer.

There's the new Diamond Air Lounge I think it's called which you can pay to get in to or is included if you have priority pass. I haven't heard much about it but the website seems to be quite reasonable. Have to say that's always been the trouble with the arrivals after 1pm that puts us off the later LAX flight. I know it's only a trip in the car normally home but things seem so much better after a shower and a shave a some coffee and snacks.

Alternatively has the LHR YoHotel opened up yet as you can book them for a couple of hours at a time I think and they really don't look that bad, but haven't heard reports from anyone who has actually used them?

Sadly not yet. It's hard to find any definite information on the opening date, but the Daily Express report "the autumn" and that looks pretty plausible based on what else I've seen - projections elsewhere that Heathrow would follow Gatwick by a couple of months, and so on. Minimum booking time is four hours.

Looks very promising to me, but again I'd be interested in a report from someone who had used them. The description of the 2m x 1m bed in the standard cabins as "cosy for two" seems optimistic at best to me, though you could probably get two on in what we might euphemistically call the "BA Club position", avoiding mention of numbers close to seventy.

Only at Gatwick South currently, though Yotel should open in Heathow's T4 sometime soon. I think the cabins look quite good to be fair, and given the price in comparison to the normal Airport hotels, its a fab idea, especially for those early morning departures and layovers.

I mentioned the Diamond Air lounge in another thread and will be posting a full review with pics in a couple of weeks time [y]

First impressions are good. Just had a call from them this evening (6.30pm here so 7.30am GMT) to confirm my booking.

I used the Gatwick Yotel last weekend, en route to St Lucia, and you're quite right that calling the standard cabin 'cosy' for two would be stretching it a bit: 'intimate' would be closer, but I think 'unavoidably coital' is probably the winning description. Not a problem for me, as I was travelling alone. I thought the Yotel was really good value, and will use it again in preference to the Hilton for a few hours before an early flight. I'd also quite happily use the LHR one when it opens, between flights, after an early morning arrival.

If anyone is interested I'll do a quick review when I'm back home next week.
