Hi guys,
I'm flying on VS023 to LAX tomorrow in PE, but I'm a bit disorganized and haven't acquired an Empower adapter for my PowerBook G4. I know that the right tip will be carried on board, but is it just one? How often have you had to fight over the tip for your laptop? I'm wondering how much effort I should put into hunting for one before I fly.
On second thought, I imagine the airport might be my best bet?
Thanks,
Ben

why not buy a proper apple one from LA (santa monica apple store is but a bus ride away)? It also comes with an adapter so that you can use it in the car!

Thanks for the suggestion woggledog. However, I think Apple only make adapters for Magsafe equipped laptops. I have an older PowerBook, and I think it requires a third party adapter. I imagine I'll be able to get one at Heathrow.
Thanks,
Ben

Dixons carry the Kensington range in their duty frees at LHR, and they also carry a range of tips in addition to those included as standard but you need to ask for them. I use the combined AC/DC unit so it means I only need one adapter. You can check to see if Kensington has a tip to support your lappy on their website.

And in reply to the OP ... yes sometimes they do ask for the tip back because another passenger wants the same. This has happened to me on about 1 occasion in 20 before I bought all the required kit. So my advice is that if you do need it, get a request in early and it's likely no one else will ask but if you're battery charged up you should have options?

Thanks for the replies. Dixons do indeed carry the adapters, but annoyingly no Apple tips. It's a bit lame, especially since at bag search the people directly ahead and behind me both pulled the same laptop as me out of their bags!
Cheers,
Ben
