There is another really good sale just started on economy and premium economy tickets to the US. Had seats on hold (Econ to LAS and Prem Econ back from LAX) for £932 each. Today in the new sale - same seats were £642....BUT the better deal was PE return to LAX was only £632....BARGAIN in my books!!

Better hurry as the sale finishes at 10pm on 17th July

Cheapest PE is £468 to New York, 01 Nov - 14 Dec 07. The SF deal for £608 in PE looks good too. [y]

Oh cool! I needed two sets of 2 x PE seats so in total 4 PE seats for < £2,000! Sweet

They look good given that taxes take a large chunk of the cost!

Mmm, trip to US in November, now I wonder.....

Also playing roung with JFK flights here for first weekend in Nov. Hmmmmm £358.20 for a Y/PE return flight to JFK...very very tempting.

Question though - I have a VS APD voucher here so could get £20 off this fare bringing it down to a very nice £338.20, can you use these when booking over the phone with VS [:?]

Regards

Wow, that is a great sale. I was messing around with dates for Boston in October a couple of days ago, and a PE return is now almost as cheap as a Y return was then. :D:D

Thanks for the reminder about the APD vouchers, James - I had forgotten about them. [8D]

Can't beleive how expensive hotels are in NY for end Nov/early Dec!!! Even bunk bed hostels with shared bath are £250 for 4 nights! Oh well, thats that out.

Welcome to the world of Christmas shopping trips, Andy.

It's a good point though - people often book bargain flights at the end of the year, only to spend all the money they saved (and more) to stay there. [:0]

And the weather at times can be horrible, spend the $$$ on a trip to the sun.

Hi Andy,

The week right before Xmas week is normally much cheaper, so Sun 16th-23rd this year.

If you go to Expedia and enter the date range in a huge block (so say last Thurs in Nov to Sun 23rd Dec), you can see when it is cheaper at a glance.

Other bonus is that week before Chrsitmas, the sales are silly.

Thanks,
Richard

OK, Who of you that are contemplating a New York Xmas shopping trip would be interested in a 4 star hotel, confirmed and named (and very well known chain) within walking distance of all the shops you could need including Macys, Bloomingdales, Apple, Dior, D&G, DKNY, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Karen Millen, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrum, Saks, Tiffant etc etc etc;

FOR AROUND £100 a night most weekends around end Nov, Early Dec?

If you would let me know and I will let you into my tried and tested New York shopping spree place to stay! And if you hire a car for a day (free parking at the hotel!) then you I can also give you directions to huge outlet mall.

I say, BOOK THE FLIGHTS, get your shopping where you £ will go further.

N Class transatlantic gets 1 TP each way. If TPs are an issue for you, when you ring to book - ask how much extra it will be to get an X class ticket. (2 TPs each way)

I haven't tried it but would suggest, given the very low fares, that the jump to an X class ticket will be quite steep.

As Richard says, PE will be in K class, therefore 3 TPs each way for Transatlantic.

And to think that I nearly booked Zoom for New York in September, and November :Dbecause Virgin was £400 more expensive !

This sale makes a return in PE cheaper than Zoom :D

BOS from £492.20 in PE? You'd be mad not to! This is actually a very good sale, there are fares to SFO for £607! Blimey.

Thanks,
Sarah
