Virgin tops a million passengers a month

Australian airline, Virgin Blue, carried over one million passengers for the first time in June 2004. The airline carried 1.01 million passengers in June, an increase of 41.5 per cent from the previous year. Traffic increased by 45.3 per cent, but capacity increased by 57.3 per cent. This caused the load factor to fall by 6.3 per cent to 76.2 per cent. The airline said that it will take some time to absorb the extra capacity. The load factor rose from 70.2 per cent in May 2004.
