Upgrade PE to UC

I'm flying PE to IAD on a K ticket (Miles & Money). Would I be able to upgrade to UC on the day for cash assuming availability. Does anyone know the likely cost?

I'm really peeved, two days after I bought my ticket, the fare price went down. I could have bought my ticket without using my miles and would have gained 12,888 miles plus a lower fare[:$]

Last year I had the pleasure of going to the Clubhouse at Heathrow.[y] Wonderful.

They can sometimes be a bit difficult about changing M+M fares. I tried to upgrade a friend's with hard cash from JFK a couple of years back, and it took quite some persuasion before they would take my money off me. Grrr...

So classybird could stand to get a refund if the fare difference is greater than GBP50?

It's a £50 change fee, and they you have to pay the fare difference to take you to the qualifying revenue fare class. So if you have bought a PE MpM (K), then you will need to pay the difference between what you paid and how much the S/W reveneue fare is, and the S/W will always be higher than the K.

Thanks,
Richard

Oh dear, I may as well stay put in PE then[:?]. Reading some of the TR on PE flights, it doesn't sound too good. On trips to Miami last year, I frequently travelled PE in the 'bubble'. I enjoyed the relative peace of a separate cabin and the 'champers'[^]. But I now gather that flights to Washington, Boston, New York etc, the cabin is much smaller and more or less shared with Y pax (well the toilets anyway)[V] and no champers [:0].
