There were 5942 entries to the competition to name Australia's newest airline operating long haul trans pacific flights.

The winning entry was V Australia. The new logo and livery can be seen at http://www.virginblue.com.au/longhaul/

Great news for RTW possibilities[y]
All we need now is "Virgin UK", "V to all the nice places in Europe" and "Virgin direct to Bangkok before Mar 08 Please Petty Please" and then I think thats everything covered.

cheers!

And doesn't the livery look fantastic!

It can be seen here: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/ge ... 10/#menu26

Wish they had somehow worked the union jack in silver into the new VS scheme.

Will be interesting to see if the Pacific Blue name stays.

And of course if SQ do relax their rules on the use of the Virgin on international routes then the airline will easily become Virgin Australia.

Mods: Maybe this should be moved to the Virgin Blue forum?!?
