Anyway, obviously with a bit of bias as it was written by a UA FF, but this is actually the customer base that VX are targetting. Sounds like there's a bit of work to do to persuade them [:?]

It would appear to be a "true" report not just a slagging off. The worrying thing is the number of FFs who say they will not use VX because of this report and other similar ones. No excuse whatsoever for the dirty seats and rubbish in seat pockets, that is just terrible. VX needs to get it's act together pretty quickly or the damage will be irreparable.

And as we all said, who ever came up with the idea of white leather seat.....Stupid.

However one thing they seem to be missing there is VX is an LCC, not a full service airline, as such can you ask them to match the level of service offered but UA, AA etc.

I don't think so, but reading other reports on VX first flights the food is way better than anything offered on say US or B6, the seats are better and the IFE is miles ahead of any domestic product.

However as Bazz says, they need to get these wrinkles ironed out ASAP.

Yes I have, US claim to be an LCC and they offer a first class cabin..that is no where near as nice as the VX one.

JetStar offers StarClass. Aer Lingus has Premier Class (Business).

So there are LCC with First/Business products out there.

Wasn't quite the point I was trying to make.

VX have openly "taken on" the majors, by claiming innovation & luxury in their First Class cabin.

So... if you want to take on the majors, you need to behave like one. If you want to behave like a LCC, then don't target the majors' premium customers; you'll lose if you can't live up to your promises.

They have to make their choice, or make a stand. From what I've seen so far, they've done neither.

Aer Lingus only has Premier on its transatlantic flights and DXB. It has dropped it for its European flights

MMMM...Planes not clean, late flights with no reasons given, can't earn miles on VS...sounds like the majority of the US airlines.

And before anyone says anything..yes I know..DL/CO....but both are late out of the New York area, Co has good food on some routes.

HL: Does EI offer same-day discounted upgrades? My and the people that came to be my parents are going to Dublin in Nov. for Turkeyday. I would like to upgrade them (and me) without filing Ch11.

Dunno. I've never flown EI to the States as it means going either to SNN (by road at least two and a half hours away) or DUB (by air with a measly luggage allowance; by train - a three hour journey and the a struggle to the airport; by road - a three hour journey to the M50 and then another three hour journey on a road that makes the M25 look like a speedway track [:0]) It's far easier for me to go via LHR from ORK. Better choice of airlines, better fares and VS

Cool. You rock like Kid Rock, HL. Oddly after I posted this I went for a walk saw an Aer Lingus A330 landing at IAD; new bird in town! Truth be told HL we paid $392 each return all in so cheap as hell.

Interesting to see that the VS habit for deploying impractical, get filthy, stay filthy interior design is being carried forward to VX.

Whoops. The UA 320 I had from SFO to BOS in August was utterly spotless inside, it may as well have been new. Dowdy, but at least clean.

The author of that TR is right. New planes and swishy IFE are one thing, but not carrying basic shorts like gin, and turning out dirty planes is not the way to make a good first impression.
