Hi folks,

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the 25% "Miles flown" bonus seems to vary slightly depending on ticketed class of service.

For example, on a PE (e.g. S) fare from LHR-SFO, I see 2733 bonus miles credited. However on an Upper (e.g. Z) fare for the same trip, I see 2679 bonus miles on the statement.

The bonus should be the same, strange indeed.

Something I've wondered - "miles flown" is that the actual miles you flew for that journey is each journey assumed to be x miles?

It's a certain number of standard miles, from a standard source, usually based on the "great circle" point-to-point distance for that journey.

So, I'll use UA as a stalking horse, LHR-SFO is always 5368, LHR-ORD is 3953, LHR-IAD is 3677, etc. Sometimes they do vary slightly from airline to airline.

Simple. Write a letter asking for your 46 miles which you will not get but I imagine you will get 5,000 miles and a sorry letter. They will not fix the issue and carry on. I would think it would be an easy fix :)
