SFO Limos - Actually real-life Virgin ones?

Just got out of my car here in SFO - "Virgin 1" on the license plate.

Anyway, the guy was telling me that the limos here have been brought back "in-house" and they're now the only location with Virgin Group owned/based transportation.

Kind of backed up by the "Virgin" logos (small) around the trim of the car, but I always thought they were looking to start using the size of Tristar worldwide now rather than building their own transport companies everywhere. [:?]

That is a very strange turn of events. Virgin limos in Vegas next?

I noticed that the SFO cars have been operated by a Virgin Group company for a while.

http://www.virginlimo.com/

When there is high demand, they seem to use City Limousine of San Francisco - http://www.citylimosf.com/ - to handle the overflow.

Cheers,
Mike

Maybe it is something to do with VX being based at SFO? Anyone know if those rates are competitive? The headline rate doesn't look too bad but when you add the other stuff...

It seems to have been this way for a while. I remember riding in "VIRGIN 6" back in 2004.

Buns might have some insight as I seem to remember he has been using them for a long time.

I have always regarded their rates as being competitive - albeit on some busy occasions they will contract out.

My experience has been that when you do get a Virgin Limo, it is top notch interior wise and I do recall that one of their drivers is a double of SRB[:0][:0] Both Mrs Buns & I did a double take when we were greeted off the flight:D

Driver I had, said they had always been Virgin owned, although the local operator has a nice piece of the action.

I've been on Virgin license plated cars before, but it's the only occasion that the driver has specifically mentioned that it's not just a branding exercise, and that they actually work for the Virgin Group.

First time I've really had time to look at the car, to be honest Dave. Quite often, I'm either in a hell of a rush because it's late or not actually turned up...[}:)]

He did also mention that they've got a lot riding on VX so whether that means VX will be introducing something similar as a service in the near future, who knows... [:?]
