have we yet a start date for the 747's covering Gatwick/Manchester/Glasgow refits?
I know its after (surprise, surprise) all of the heathrow aircraft refits so its probably 2008, but do we know when? Are they going to put a Heathrow 747 in the line to replace the aircraft being refitted or are they going to do it a low requirement times?

Also, when does the lease on these ex alitalia aircraft run ot? anyone know?

We are waiting to find out from VS when the first LHR 744 goes in for the refit, as of James' last check, all 5 LHR 744's were still operating, as i assume they will be until the summer holidays rush finishes. VS claim that all the LHR aircraft will be refitted by the close of 2007 so i'd assume LGW will start in early 2008.

Thanks,
Sarah

My flight out of LHR on the 15th November is already showing the new configuration along with several other peoples (as noted in other posts). Lets hope they are done by this date otherwise VS are going to have a problem with UC and PE being oversold.

Yes i know. You are on the SFO flight, right? It seems that most SFO flights from mid-September have the new config showing in the seatmap. I assume that the first aircraft will go in at the start of next month if not the next few days, coinciding with the end of school holidays. Most likely it will be G-VWOW who is doing a tour of duty at LGW right now on the BGI route until the end of the month.

Thanks,
Sarah
