Apparently the VS15 went tech this morning and all pax were xferred to the 27 which has left successfully. Here's hoping the 15 gets repaired shortly or problems may follow over the weekend with school hols etc being over.

Oh dear, LGW fleet struggles when its at full capacity, let alone with 1 a/c down, fingers crossed it is fixed soon otherwise we could see some lengthy delays on a route that suffers enough.

Wonder if they might call an A343 or an LHR 747 to help out[:?]

Unless there were only 150 passengers on each of the flights, that does still leave quite a few people stranded... [:0]

According to Flight Stats it arrived at just after 9pm on that same day. I guess the aircraft are need to get people home at the end of the school holiday season.

VS 016 on Friday from orlando to lgw was cancelled (A faulty wire which was difficult to get at, apparently). all pax transferred to the following days VS016(Saturday) and all of saturdays pax bumped - sadly, first hand experience.

To be fair, as travelling UC, VA contacted me and advised me of delay but that they wanted me to check in at orlando as normal - they provided two rooms at Hyatt for my family of 4, plus 30 usd each for dinner. Replacement plane available following morning at 9.00am so approx 13 hr delay - also offered 50,000 miles for each adult and 30,000 for each child so not too dusty

I think there was a manchester crew working on the flight, and they were shorthanded on return trip.

I had a similar deal many years ago minus the miles but with a 25% off voucher :D

I only had a 12 hour delay and left the following morning at 8am.

The Hyatt is a fab place to stay :D

To this day this is one of the reasons I'm still loyal to Virgin.

Imagine getting anything like that with the charter boys at Sanford [:(]

The 15 is the last flight of the day for VS and so it makes sense that any delay on one of the inbound aircraft is pushed back on to the 15. It only normally tends to be 30 minutes or so on a good day. We always book the 15 for our MCO trips because it leaves you with more time in an empty clubhouse.

I will post a trip report when I get home, but I flew BA club from LGW to MCO on 31st Aug. It was nothing to VS.

over 80 mins for the drinks round once in the air

skipped dinner as I had a breakfast in hotel, went to the pantry and it only had crisps and nuts etc. I asked for wraps and sandwich, and was told they dont offer the, Produced the menu which stated they did, and then was told they did not know and had none.

Asked permission to have someone from econ to join for a glass of wine, after 2 mins she was asked to leave. When we explained that we got permission and pointed out the woman who said we could, she denied it!!![V]

The kids were treated like econ pax, not just our kids, but all the kids in club.

Stewardess managed to spill a glass of wine over my lap (I know you cant help bumps, but with everything else, it all adds up)

I could go on, but will do when I post a TR.

Well it does not get any better today at LGW.
Three delayed departures, VS are really finding it hard to catch up.

VS029 10.00 estimated 12.10
VS027 10.45 estimated 14.05
VS015 12.45 estimated 14.30

Swings and Roundabouts I guess Danno. I could tell you a few similar stories about VS; well all apart from the kids who I don't care about anyway being a DINKY. (Or maybe that should be DINKE with the E meaning EVER!)

The unfortunate fact is that neither VS nor BA offer a truely exceptional service on every ro it seems even the majority of flights these days.

Perhaps we have all just become too demanding [8D]

Don't know if it is causing any of the problems, but many flights delayed due to a strike by Italian ATC
Virgin Atlantic
