VAA Au gives access to Vir Blue Lounges?

I'm VAA Au, and will be in Sydney and Melbourne in a couple of weeks time. The VAA web site talks about Au holders being able to access Singapore lounges but nothing about access to Virgin Blue lounges in Syd/Mel?
Does anyone know for a fact if an Au card gets access to Virgin Blue lounges, and are there any other benefits being a Au holder in Australia/with Virgin Blue (apart from access to the NZ lounge in SYD).
Thanks.

VS AU gives you access to DJ's lounges if you are connecting off the VS200 to a DJ flight or taking a DJ flight to connect to the VS201 only.

If you are purely just taking a DJ flight from point to point you will have to pay to access their lounges unfortunately.

Ah, I'm arriving on the 200 into SYD, then on to MEL on VBlue, so I assume I could use the Au card to access the lounge.
Later in the week I'm flying MEL-SYD simply to be back in SYD for some meeting before flying back to LHR on the 201 several days later, and I therefore assume I can't use the VBlue lounge in MEL without paying? Do you know what the charge is to use the lounge?
Thanks.

Yep, thats spot on...

If I recall it's either AUD$30 or AUD$40 to pay for a one off entry. The terminal in MEL is too small for DJ's ever growing operations so the lounge provides a good little escape from the madness.

We came in on the VS200 from HK and flew onto Melbourne the same morning, we are unfortunately only FF red but as were flying UC had to hand over our boarding card stubs from the VS200 to gain entry. The fee is $30 but having been in there - yes you are away from the main throng - but the rest of the terminal has been upgraded and imo is actually better than the lounge. Only soft drinks will be on offer before lunch!
Don't forget you can check in at the international terminal turn left after clearing customs - don't exit via the main doors- walk up passed all the customs counters and the DJ check is round the corner at the end. They will also give you a free ticket for the shuttle bus to the domestic terminal.
I have not used the lounge in Mel so can't comment - although the terminal is quite shoddy compared to Sydney.
Enjoy.

Thanks for that Rob, can I check my bags on to MEL at the DJ check-in; I assume I can... that will be easier hopefully - was there much of a queue at the International Term DJ check-in?
Cheers.

You certainly can check your bags through to Mel at the international terminal. That morning there was only one person in the queue in front of us. But then that section of the airport was pretty quiet the morning we arrived - no queue at immigration and only a 5 or so minute wait for the customs scan and check.
