Does MPM X class = X Class

Is a MPM X class the same as an X class if I paid with cash for the ticket? Or are the two X's different ?

I couldn't find any rewards back from LAS in April so I was going to do MPM for 4 people, LHR-LAS-LAS-LGW, out in economy, back in PE. If I could pay the difference from X to L class, I could then use my stash of miles to upgrade the outbound to PE or even UC .

Any help welcome

You can upgrade a MPM fare to a revenue fare with cash but there is a £50 fare change fee on top of the difference in the fares:

Tickets are non refundable. However changes may be possible at applicable charges.
Date changes can be made at a charge of GBP 50 per ticket per change, the original booked class must be available and maximum/minimum stay requirements must be adhered to.
Upgrades to revenue fares can be made at a charge of GBP 50.

I've just been told again by FC that MPM fares can't be upgraded to revenue fares by paying the £50 charge and the difference to the revenue fare.

Oh well, back to the drawing board

Thanks anyway for you help.

Then VS need to update their web site as it clearly states you can upgrade a MPM fare to a revenue fare on this page in point # 21 [:?] (you will need to log into your FC account to view this page)

After searching through many posts, some saying you can pay to get a revenue fare, some saying they tried but were flatly refused I gave up. Now flying 4 x UC rewards out to LAX and coming back on Maxjet from LAS. Works out slightly cheaper anyway, just have to get home from Stanstead now!
