Online Checkin

Having been a way for a long time, I have a question about using the on-line checkin. I have reserved outbound and inbound seats, but wanted to know, when using the online checkin do all the seats then become available for you to choose from? I believe you can now also print your own boarding pass and exchange it for a 'real' one when you drop your bags off?
Have managed to upgrade to PE for only £140 return each, so really looking forward to trying the revamped cabin and service

Just hope the strike don't happen !!

I understand that the majority of the seats become available (something like 60% are normally held back for airport allocation, and these are freed up for online-checkin), although I believe seats like exit rows, and bulkhead positions with skycots are still only allocated at the airport.

that is a very good price for an upgrade - what was your economy ticket class?

That's the cheapest I've EVER known a PE return upgrade go for - especially ahead of time.
(Although Gingerflyer's question is particularly relevant here, as if you had a full Y, THEY should be paying YOU to "upgrade" to a PE seat...

When I checked in online, then wanted to try for an exit row seat at check in, they suggested that it's a lot of work to change it once I'd checked in. Is this correct?

Hmm. It's definitely MORE work for them to change you around, but whether it's a "lot" of work would be debatable.
They either want the cash or they don't (and I'm pretty sure they do!).
I'd check in online, secure the best seat you can and then go for the exit row if you get to "real" check-in early enough.

Oh, I don't do economy, so there's no money involved.

I booked online through Virgin Holidays, but it still seems a really good price, compared to what i've paid before to fly PE.
