baggage - weight allowance

i was wondering if someone could confirm my thoughts.
i am flying virgin p/e so my luggage weight allowance would be 32kg per case .
when i transfer to my delta flight the luggage allowance is 22.5 kg per case.
as this is not a checked threw connection am i right in thinking i would have to pack my suitcase for the delta flight of 22.5 kg and not the allowance on the virgin flight of 32kg .

Correct - or be prepared to pay an excess baggage fee when you get to the Delta desk to re-check your bags.

SOMEtimes they don't worry - I've been "done" a few times though...
