I didn't even realize it but Virgin Money has launched a US operation (see: http://www.virginmoneyus.com). Right now it seems like they're only dealing with loans, but I wondering if this could be a prelude to a US Virgin credit card with VX and/or VS miles?

Discuss.

I was in Boston and watched SRB do the launch last week. I have loads of photos of SRB doing the corny launch thing with lots of pretty girls dressed in colonial costumes. I keep meaning to post a couple here, but haven't got round to it. [:?]

All that appears to have happened is that a fairly small New England lending company called CircleLending has been re-branded as Virgin Money US, it seems to encourage lending between people who know each other.

When SRB did his launch speech, he cited the example of an Aunt who had lent him money to launch Virgin records. The loan was formalised with a contract but was done with lower interest rates than a bank would charge. The money was used to book studio time for Mike Oldfield to record Tubular Bells and the rest, as they say, is history.

This doesn't mean, of course, that they won't diversify in the future, so you may be right, Nick - Virgin credit cards in the US may be in the offing.

BTW, the tag line for the new company, that SRB had on his T-Shirt is : Go Fund Yourself!:D

Edit - photos now added to gallery.
