Ditto!

I arrive back at LGW on the Bank Holiday Monday. I assume this strike won't affect the baggage handling staff there? (I think it's run by Aviance).

Hi
The TGWU are also due to vote on strike action - the article refers to six UK airports, wheras the BA action is reported to mainly affect LGW and LHR. Does anyone know which these are likely to be? I'm due to be flying out MAN-CDG Air France on the Bank Hol Sunday (29/8)which should be a [8D]but now feels like it might be a [:(][V]

I'm flying IAD-LHR on VS tomorrow then connection on KL... is this just a "BA" problem? or will other services at LHR be affected?
Thanks for the heads up... guess Term 1 is gonna be fun!

Hi,
While it appears to be just a BA problem, it sohuld be pointed out that NO strike date has been definately set. ( It is likely to be awiating the other union's vote announcement due tomorrow before a deifnate date ( one of the bank holidays) is set.
However BA has apparently increased the offer and there is still time to negotiate to avoid the strike)
Stay tuned for further developments.
Regards
TBS (flying AC on that weekend)

TGWU have balloted in favour of strike action and it was reported tonight they were going out on the Friday (27th) if there isn't a negotiated settlement.

Really good news all round - staff pay did look low in comparison to some similar jobs but I didn't want to see BA in financial or reputational difficulty again. Just 'cos I luuuurrrvve Virgin doesn't mean I hate BA
