Hi
Looking through some posts it seems that people feel that the suites on the A340 are not as wide as those on the main deck of a 744. Has anyone measured the width to verify this or is it just an urban myth?
Also if you travel downstairs in the middle row I see that some people have managed to remove the centre partition when travelling together, are VS cabin crew happy to do this when requested or does it depend on the crew.
Regards
Gary.

Hi Gary,

The centre partition can be removed by the crew if you wish. It's not down to the crew in charge of the flight - It's available as an opportunity for any passengers travelling together (Or not travelling together if your a quick mover [:p]).

I've not measured the size difference in suites myself - It's not a myth, you can just tell sat in a B744 suite that they are wider. If your travelling to NYC, book an Airbus one way and a Boeing return to compare...:D

747 suite is wider across the shoulder area.

And on the 744, the suites upstairs are longer but slightly narrower than the ones downstairs. All to do with the angle they are fitted.

Thanks,
Sarah

IMHO the 747 upper deck suites are roughly the same width as the airbus variants but narrower than the 747 main deck suites, as Sarah has said.
