SFO closed due to earthquake

Ok, looks like SFO is running normally, and the closure was just a precaution to make sure the shake hadn't liquified the landfill beneath the runway. Understandable I guess!

Apparently some chance of a similar magnitude tremor in the next 7 days, and smaller chance of larger event.

Many people have said SF has been "overdue" for years - I REALLY hope they continue to be proven wrong [:0]

Well, the Loma Prieta quake in 1989 happened pretty much as predicted, a rarity in the quake world. Let's hope that the latest quake is not what they call a "precursor" (to a larger event). Would hate to spoil Pete's arrival on our shores!
