Looks like a bit of Daily Mail rabble-rousing
Most of that information is already supplied at time of booking and the actual pax will not need to supply it. I'll wait and see what the actual legislation/regulations say.

Agreed
but there will be a significant costs behind this no matter how its finally implemented, I doubt this can be absorbed fully, as you say lets just see how they plan to roll this out.

Yeap there going to need to make it 54 questions! That will augment very well into the obese flight tax plan, and now they can have a pair of scales at check in too!!

Ha ha ha - that'll make some software company very, very rich piecing together Government systems to provide the information.
Expect it to be watered down cnsiderably / or more likely come in to being after we're all eaten by worms or burnt as appropriate!

a little bit wierd that they want frequent flyer details, including miles flown and addresses! A lot of information, that is going to give someone a nightmare to try and sift through!

How are you meant to know seat number or bag tag number before you fly. Or remember the name of the person at the travel agency who you booked with ?[?]

One assumes they will capture a lot of the original information at point of booking, then the next batch at check in, hopefully all these booking systems will link up (hahahaha). ItÕs the last minute bookings that will be a headache, the ones where your told at 1700 your going to IAD in the morning[B)]

Which is about the only thing not asked! I recoiled in horror when I read the list - I know we already have to supply some of this info, but I was really affronted at some of the questions, which seem to have less than nothing to do with security and everything to do with unnecessary big brother-ing.
More tax, just wait....

Also assumes people use agents - which many of us don't. And as for when it was booked, what class - what the **** is it to do with anyone.........

Ew, this will not making traveling any happier. I wonder if these questions will be asked by individual agents who then record all the information on a computer or whether you will have to waste time filling a card out with all the information. Either way it's not very efficient
Two of the weirdest questions on there are probably "check-in agent's initials" (how will this help anything given the relatively small amount of initial combinations that are possible), and "frequent flyer information including miles flown and addresses" (who the heck knows the number of miles on their FF account at all time? I sure don't).

Are you given the "Anything you say may be taken down and used in evidence......" before or after the questions have been asked.[:w]
And if you don't answer the questions in the way you should do, or you tell the person "NO COMMENT" do you not get to fly?[V]
There's anti terrosim laws and there's Communism, and this sounds like a bit of each, where has the fredom to travel disappeared to?[n]
Then there will be the even longer queue's[:0]
You either have a passport allowing you to travel, or it is taken away from you to prevent you from travelling?[?]

Not to be picky (my history buff side speaking), but communism has nothing to do with this, it's more totalitarianism or fascism. I know you're thinking probably of the USSR, but that wasn't a true communist state.[:I]

I am amazed at the reaction to this issue.
Can anyone identify a single question that is not already known about everyone travelling to the US?
All this is, is a rationalisation of an existing database!
One possible - email address - but that one also shows that not every question can/must be answered!

I don't have a problem with any of the questions.
theres one missing though
"do you have or have you ever had an amenity pack fetish"[}:)]

I've no problems with this as I have nothing to hide.
It's only the same as API when flying to the US where they actually extract a lot for info than just the questions you answer for that. I believe most of that info is included in API now anyway.
