Is it correct that you have to pay for exit seats?

If so, does any one know how much it is?

Yes in Y they are GBP50 or USD75 per leg.

Never been known to pay for exit seats before as far as I am aware but usually they cannot be allocated in advance, only at check-in.

Yes you pay at Check-in. In SFO it caused a problem as they had to search around for one of those old CC impression machines, took about 20 minutes but that was shortly after they introduced the policy, hopefully they are better organised now.

I thought payment for exit rows was only for certain routes eg MCO?

Previously I have paid on flights to/from LAX and SFO, I assume it is on all routes but only in Y.

I beleive MCO is the only route where you dont have to pay for exit row seats.

What about in PE? Can you 'buy' those or are these allocated at check-in for free if you request them still?

Thanks James,
I knew MCO came into it somewhere!

A and K seats are not charged due to the door bustle in front.

So if two of you are tarvelling it will cost £25 each really if one of you sits in A or K.

£50 will 'guarantee' you the seat or you can wait until you get to the gate, if the seats are not sold then they will allocate them free of charge first come first served basis.

Cannot Pre book only can get them at the airport.

It is very popular though!

That is the key - I did it on my last trip back from MIA, I paid for one and got the next seat free.

I am not in favour of it as it smacks of charter airline policy, but - if people are paying, then it will presumably continue.
