Just picked this info. from another forum. Has anyone got any details on the lounge location, or whether it's taking space from the LGW Clubhouse?

How very interesting.

So I guess that means the end of Clubhouse access (at LGW at least) through Virgin Holidays. This certainly adds an extra dimension to VH's offering in the competitive package holiday market though.

£15 and only free soft drinks[:0]

Think I would rather pay for the servisair lounge or the clubhouse!

Its looks nice, but I hope it doesn't involve the clubhouse's space. Would be nice to see a little freshen up for LGW at the same time.

Looking at the pic again, wonder if it will be in the satelite ?

Just to clarify - V-Room is an entirely new development, and won't infringe on the space of the existing Clubhouse lounge in any way :)

I think £15 is excellent value, even if it doesn't include any booze. [8D]. It is available with a 'Virgin Holiday package', so I assume this will include city breaks and fly drives.

I am looking forward to the first TRs that include a visit to this facility. It is available from 'Spring 2008'. That is fairly vague, but not too far away.

Very interesting. I remember some years ago there was talk of a new Virgin lounge in the area where the sports bar was. It was going to be a separate facility for those with Ag/travelling in PE. Looks like things have moved on since then.

Sure there will be plenty of interest!

The new V ROOM will occupy the space previously taken by the Continental lounge.

Interesting- if I remember correctly a paid access lounge (non Clubhouse) was one of the things I was asked about when contacted by VH (? early this year)when they were doing some market research(there was a thread about this as a few of us V-flyers had been contacted but I can't find it).

Very interesting- finally it seems that VS are responding to the challenge from TUItravel et al.

Looks good! I can see why they charge for Alcohol, how many times have there been discussions about people drunk onboard - particularly Vegas? Free drinks are going to be a total mare!

Wonder if they will use it for promotions - free access for those in PE maybe.

It should also make a difference to the CH at Gatwick. No longer will the atmosphere be disrupted large gatherings, stag parties etc etc.

If you have a look at the Boston Clubhouse thread, you will see that VS are notoriously 'flexible' with opening dates. [:D][8D]

Hiya,

We've been given an opening date of 1st May, and that's what we've been working with.

Recommended this to a friend last week who is flying in May. Just received a call from her telling me that she had been contacted by VH who have now put the opening back to June.[:w]
I wonder what they will do with all the people who have already paid for May?

One would guess refund or CH.

There's now a Radio advertising campagin running across London dtations promoting the V Room.

There's also a host of billboards across town promoting Virgin Holidays as well.

Now back from the launch today. The simple message is, if you're on a VH package from Gatwick and can't get (free) access to the Clubhouse, the VROOM is an easy choice. Apart from the free food and (non alcoholic) drinks, you get Fast Track security, and for only 15 quid, it's a lot better value than a Serviceair lounge.

So is this the end of the £35 enterence to the Clubhouse through Virgin holidays?
