Infant care chair positions?

Hi

We're flying with my niece next year who will be 15 months and my sister has requested an infant care chair for her. Is it true that these can only be used in certain positions? My sister has also done a seat request but we don't know if the chair can be used on the seats she has requested.

Ideally they need 4 seats together....

Thanks

What route are you flying as that will determine which aircraft?

by seats for landing
Virgin is switching over to infant care seats and these can be used on seats with airbag seat belts (infant care chairs couldn't). Whether all aircraft have these, I don't know, but they are on the Manchester aircraft. They obviously can't be used at exit rows, and we wouldn't fit them on aisle seats, but other than that they can go pretty much anywhere. They can be used in upper class, but in seat mode only.
