For my trip to Man for the PCP, I have first class on the ex-Eus train. Can anyone tell me what the power sockets on the seats are like so I can put my MacBook on main and watch a film or something?

Are they 3-pin 240v or an Empower type plug? The VT website doesn't say.

Thanks

They will be standard 3pin UK plug sockets

Not 100% sure about Virgin, but both Midland Mainline (now East Midlands trains) and GNER (now Stagecoach / National Express?) are both the normal household three pin plugs at seat, with a caveat that only mobile phones and laptops should be plugged into them.

I would suggest that this a standard throughout the rail network, but that may be presumptive of me. [8D][}:)]

They are standard 3-pin sockets, and the positions are marked with red dots on the seat maps I've put on V-Flyer;

Thanks. Means I can delay the Empower for the Mac for a while.

I had this sudden mental image of someone doing the ironing as the train rattled its way through England [:o)]

LOL. Funny, I had an image of someone plugging a kettle in, and making their own cup of coffee. [8D][:D]

Well it would be bound to taste better than anything that would be served up on the train!!

How about a mini-microwave. Heat your own pasties and sell them
