The spice girls will fly from LA today on one of our flights and will also rename the plane before hand.

There is going to be lots of press coverage.

Any idea what plane will be renamed, and what name it will get?

NAME A - Spice One

NAME B - Girl Power

NAME C - Spice Girl

Its a 744 that is being renamed too.......according to the VS site anyways. Maybe the one that was previously Birthday Girl G-VFAB??

A bit of a downgrade from what Victoria's used to I suppose but for Mel C it's going to be 'right luxury' compared to Thomsonfly from Magaluf....maybe I'm just reading too much into the 'Sporty Spice' stereotype. [xx(]

well at the risk of being a name dropper, last time I was in the Clubhouse, as if its my second home!, the waitress told me that Victoria and David fly with them a lot; it was just after their mega publicised flight over to LA, and they were all bit peeved that they'd chosen another carrier, think it was BA. Perhaps it fitted image better!

Yes the Beckhams do fly Virgin Atlantic. I have been on 4 flights in the last 2 years with them.
It's G-VFAB I think.

Though I understand both of them have BA Prem status.

I'm sure they do if they are trying to go somewhere on a schedule that suits them, to somewhere they can't fly direct, or to fly into a smaller less crowded airport (hopefully avoiding the media in the process).

You must be thinking of Conrad Black and his lady wife who never flew Concorde 'because they don't use public transport'.

I sincerely hope that 'Spice One' won't be waiting for me at the gate on future flights!!! I really don't think I could bring myself to board the F*%%@^'G thing!

FWIW, if it really was G-VFAB, then as of this morning the aircraft was still named 'Lady Penelope'.

By the look of it on a video on this website (link on right hand side called Spice One takes off. Can't get an exact link, sorry) the name Spice One appears half way down the aircraft, maybe VS are just leaving it as Lady P and just having this extra name on it for a bit of publicity?

think this is correct, as the plane is def G-VFAB, and this website has pretty good photos . Spice one is written halfway down near the decal

Alright you lot.

I've just arrived at the venue in Boston ahead of our show tonight. We flew in on Monday and it was great to have a rest on the plane. The kids were all running up and down the aisles and singing Spice Girls songs and then 'I Turn To You' which Melanie C lovedÉ although I'm not sure if the other passengers on the plane felt the same!

Just before we landed, Romeo made an announcement over the tannoy asking everyone to take their seats and fasten their seat belts... it was very cute.
