Hi all, now in Deltas club at MCO.
Used online checkin last night, Downtown Disney this morning for two of the three bags (yes, they are weighing every case now) They also provided purple boarding cards there!
and then after changing to UK clothes, checked in the last case at MCO.
All worked fine.
MCO security bad as normal, still stupid 'take off your shoes' etc. They seem to have a new IRIS style fast track being put in place.
Delta lounge as normal, TMobile wifi, free drinks and pretzels, nuts and chocolate spread?? but better than the heaving no seats mess downstairs. VS 16 15 mins late

Alan - I fully agree with your comments about the MCO experience. Security is badly managed (I got moved between 3 different queues back in November by the ever efficient TSA crowd). I was unaware that you could check some of your bags in at DTD then another at the airport later on - certainly something I will bear in mind on my next MCO trip.
Once airside, there are nowhere near enough seats in the gate area. As you rightly say, thank goodness for the Delta Crown Room with it's free bar & odd selection of snacks.
Hope you have a good flight back to the UK - at least you've got a Revivals lounge of sorts at Gatwick that you can use [I flew into MAN].

My tip on the security is to go to the furthest entry point away from the hyatt hotel lifts. As they filter people into the employee lines when there are few people in it. Got through security in 5 minutes this thursday, and the lines were quite long as well.
The clear pass as it is called for the IRIS is only open to residents and US citzens at the moment, and they are looking into a visitor system soon
I still to this day cant work out why Virgin with 4 flights a day into MCO dont have there own upper lounge, granted space is probably the issue, but a potential of 52 upper seats on the routes and plenty of Gold card holders should be good reason to have one. JNB has one for 45 plus passengers and one flight per day.

I didn't realise you could check another bag in later either, so that's handy to know thanks. Hope you had a good flight back.

Alan - I find it hard to believe we travelled on the same day - we had no queue for security at all!
Walked straight out of the Hyatt at about 3:30pm, no queue at all - three minutes chatting to the initial security guy (an ex-Scot) then straight to the scanner. Yes, shoes were off, but the whole security check only took 4 minutes and that was mainly because we were chatting!
The usual quicker lines on the 'other' side of the Hyatt were a bit busier but only about 12 in each line!
