Looks like the Winter Sale has started;
http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/sp ... /index.jspSome reasonable
Premium Economy sale fares announced. New York from 598 is quite appealing, given the sale period extends out till April.
Book by 10pm on the 22 January 2008. (I expect it will get extended).
Thanks,
Sarah

The problem occurs when you select 'London Heathrow' as your departure. You only get one option - Barbados. None of the other LHR destinations show up. Selecting 'London All' only brings up LGW destinations.
You can book via the normal booking links though as special offers are still pulled though there anyway.

IF there is going to be one, I am sure it will be any time now.
However, given that it is less than a month since the last big UC sale finished, and the massive amount of uncertainty in the industry with Maxjet's demise and industrial action looming large on at least two fronts. It wouldn't be am major shock for me, if they delayed it for a while. (No inside knowledge - just my thoughts)
One thing is almost certain though - as soon as one announces, the other won't be far behind. [;)][}:)]

Another economy megasaver fare sale , appears to have been loaded onto the VS website.
I think it is different to the other one, as it only features economy fares and most routes are available for various dates until the end of May 2008. [y]
Still nothing on another UC sale AFAIK

Where's Dubai in the sale, even BA have left it out this year! Seems a bit odd[:(]

There are a few mutterings about lack of discounts and routes in the BA sale, over on Flyertalk. Maybe they really are waiting to see what happens on the industrial action fronts.
It makes sense not to load up the planes, if there are going to be enforced cancellations looming.
If that is the case, then watch out for the BA bargains if the BAA dispute is settled. [}:)] Having said that, they still might hold off on the discounts to Dubai and other VS routes, because they will be looking to pick up VS passengers who fear cancellations or disruptions.

I agree with your thoughts Nick - it's a complicated season this year with a number of events and then not least the threat of a downward economy. The BA sale is very limited, I looked for Vienna for example, nowt and they have four / five flights a day. I can see the big airlines keeping their powder kegs full to maintain flexibility to react to events - as you say there's no point in filling planes with cheap tickets if either there are higher revenue fares to be gained, or flights may need to be canned and compensation provided.
None of which helps those bargain hunters among us!

Now extended to 29 January 2008 - had finished for 2 days except for the USA routes - all previous routes now on sale again.
