Considering spending some of my miles ( actually I want to get rid of them ) on a trip and want to try the clubhouse at heathrow, it appears Mia flight departs 9:20ish, what time does the new clubhouse open?

Is the BA clubhouse comparable to it

Not in the slightest. I'd compare the Terraces complex to a Priority Pass Lounge, just above a ServisAir Lounge. A VS CH is miles ahead of any BA Terraces facility.

I think LHR CH opens at 6:30am, not been there that early for a while.

By reading your numerous postings on theDIBB it seems your are a regular visitor to the VS LGW Clubhouse. One may say the VS clubhouse at LHR is similar but larger and superior in most every way to hte LGW offering unless, like me, you like the intimate atmosphere and service one finds at LGW. Personally, I would not liken either of them to the current inferior BA Terrace lounges offering as Mr Mannion as pointed out in an earlier reply. BA Lounges are promised to change when T5 is opened - especially if flying FIRST or a EC PREMIER.

Regards,

HG

I'm intrigued to visit them when they open in March, as the article I read in the BA inflight magazine left me confused and wondering if they will be on par.

Me too - I was invited and attended a review in November but it was more like a building site and very little info was shared with us - a total waste of a day really. All the subsequent EMails and snail Mail I have received seem to point to a great experience that awaits us but I remain to be convinced.

Yours hopefully !!

HG

When VS opened the new UC security channel one of the things I was talking about to a staff member at the time was how wonderful it was to be able to get to the CH from check-in in 5 minutes. She, rather gleefully, said that according to VS research it could take as much as 50 minutes at T5 to get from arrival through to the lounges - partly because the terminal is so vast and the lounges are all as far as they can be from check-in, to give good views! Be interested to see this tested.

Lets hope when they get there, that a limited service isn't in action. Remember eggs only have a shelf life of 1 day.... muppets.

First time I tried the new CDC check in the barriers were broken.

Took 25 mins, not 10 as advertised.

Still not bad though.
