so many of you are noticing that the ear plug are missing in all amenity packs, and for some of you, you rely on them for some peace dring your trip. well never fear, they are available from the crew, we have a draw in the galley with them in. As are trump card and colouring books and crayons [:o)](LGW only). i think they took tem out cause alot of them were being binned and not used.[:D]

Where does it end? [ii]
Have 'they' noticed that a lot of the toilet paper in the washrooms doesn't get 'used' on each flight as well? Perhaps that could be the next 'on-request' item? [:w]

I noticed they were not in the BA amenity pack the other day, did n't think to call the crew. Perhaps I'll bring my Lab Ear defenders instead

I do use the earplugs on both sectors, so I'll be sure to ask for some if they are missing.
Oh, I gave in and ordered a set of QC2's, they have a buy 1 get $50 off another pair, so for $274+tax, it was too tempting.

Do you have VS playing cards hidden away somewhere?

Don't know whether that is due to cost cutting or wastage but I never use mine anyway. I bet there is alot of wastage from the amenity packs.

haha knew it would be a good post, thanx guys! yes decker is right i have yet to working in J, part from the odd stint on the bar and nce did lunch on GV-SUN! yes perhaps i could e mail uncle Richard and suggest your tiolet paper ideas! i think this is more down to wastage, alot of stuff doesn't get used in the amenity packs in W/Y although everyone should at least use the tooth brushes after a night flight! the eye masks are great though if yo have a fancy dress party and want to go as a super hero lol. we dont have playing card though it would be good to have some, you can play cards on the IFE and i normally carry a deck in my bag, handy for vegas flights as you are always being asked.

Hm, I myself prefer the noise canceling headphones. My ear doctor told me not to use ear plugs.

I prefer to use both. Bose only cancel out specific frequencies - to sleep I find both better

Well I do, Mrs Scrooge uses
these as they are the most comfortable she could find. Also 3M sells them in boxes of 1000, so plenty of spare hanging around for flights etc

The removal of the ear plugs from the amenity packs has been a pet peeve of mine. Being a light sleeper I relied on these to block out a lot of noise and help me sleep (especially as my company has a Y policy [:(!]). I normally carry my own with me now, but coming back from ORD yesterday, I had forgotten to pack any. I asked the crew for some, thinking they had some in a draw in the galley (as indicated at the start of this thread) but they had no knowledge of that (in fact, the first crew member I asked said they were in the amenity pack!). So, can anyone confirm if there is some magic supply of these on board now or not?
Thankfully the ORD flight was extrememly empty so was not too noisy. Nabing a bank of 4 seats in Y to myself helped compensate for the lack of earplugs [y]

Here is a better solution put one of these huge dispensers on board, and when everyone gets board you can simpley start an ear plus war

I made reference to the ear plug position few weeks ago in a TR. It appears they're not even kept for request any more for passengers at the back of the bus [n](but still appear in the UC snooze packs).

They're also still in PE packs, as of a few days ago at least.

They are in J and PE amenity kits.
They have been removed from Y kits for sometime now and a trial was taking place where they were loaded in the galley on a request basis.
The trial has now ended and they are not onboard anymore for the time being.

I like to wear them whilst watching Eastenders...just watching Peggy Mitchell move her mouth without sound coming out is like performance art.
As for using them onboard, I could not sleep with out them...and one and a half Ambien [:)]
