LGW 744 seat config.

Hi Everyone, this is my first post here and was wondering if there is anyone who could help me with these questions

I am due to fly LGW-MCO in April in PE. Not sure if the new seats will be available by then, but if they are, does anyone know what the seat configuration will be on the LGW 744 fleet? Will there still be PE seats upstairs or will that be changed to accommodate UC. Will that mean that PE would then be at the front of the plane down stairs, or would they just increase the number of UC seats.

Thank you in anticipation for your assistance in answering these questions.

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer

If you click on the Seat maps link on the left hand side you will see there are 2 configs for LGW a/c. However the PE section is exactly the same on both. I very much doubt the new PE seats will have been fitted by April. Also the config on the LGW a/c are not changing like the LHR ones have, the PE section is staying upstairs and they aren't increasing the number of UC seats at the moment.

Thankyou for your help Neil, I realized that the two LGW configs were practically the same, but having flown upstairs last year, and having our seats reserved in the upstairs section of PE for this flight, I was concerned after reading other posts of how good the upstairs PE is, which I totally agree, that they were likely to do away with this config, when the planes are re- fitted.

Also I have seen on Virgins site that they have cancelled the VS27/28 flights in January and February. Would this have anything to do with the fe-fitting of the LGW fleet?

I would say that it is highly unlikely, but VS have not actually announced anything firm about dates for the PE upgrades on the these a/c. The LGW fleet are very busy and it is quite common for VS to cancel the 27/28 when the MCO flights are not that busy to help the fleet out.

Is it possible that when the planes are re-fitted, that they will increase the number of PE seats downstairs, as it seems from a lot of the posters here that PE is becoming increasingly more popular with all types of passengers including holidaymakers, who want that extra bit of comfort/luxury. This seems to tally up with the official Virgin statement of the % increase of PE PAX. Or do you think on these routes they will stick with the tried and tested 'Bums on seats configs'

At the moment there are no plans to change the number of seats in any class on the LGW fleet.
