Hi
we're going to MRU in U/C on an air miles ticket friday evening. I haven't flown U/C on virgin for a while now and wasn't sure where you go to check in at LHR? We haven't got a limo picking us up so do we just go to normal check in in the main terminal 3 area or has this now all changed as i read about a separate virgin check in area? Is this just for limo full J class people?
also, we have a small child with us who will need dinner in the lounge - do you need to reserve for a seat at the restaurant?
thanks

Hello and Welcome,

VS do have a new check-in experience for all J passengers as of November last year.

If your travelling without a limo you need to make your way to Zone A at T3. VS do have a new drive through facility but you won't be able to use this unless you have redeemed miles for a limo or travelling on a D or J ticket.

Once in Zone A, the J check-in desks are on the far right hand side.

The check-in agent will point you in the right direction of the priority lift for VS J/Au passengers which takes you into the new private security channel.

The new facilites are all extremely user friendly and you should be amazed by the ease of getting from check-in to clubhouse.

Enjoy your trip...[:D]

thank you - last and final questions!
a)we are travelling with a 1 year old. We're assuming our little man will be strapped in for take off/landing by sitting on my wife's lap (or mine!) with a seat belt extension lead - we're assuming there is no need for a car seat!?

b)at LHR is there still a drop off zone outside the terminal or do you have to go to short term parking? we're going by taxi so wanted get close to zone A with bags etc..

thanks for all
best wishes

Yes, your child will be strapped to one of you using a seatbelt extension for take-off, landing and during any turbulence. The crew will provide this for you.

As for airport drop-off, there is a specific area where taxi's will drop you off for Terminal 3. You'll need to cross the road and head to Zone A from there. Its not a long walk, but can be rather congested due to the hoards of other travelers milling around and waiting for cars. If your taxi company do a lot of airport drop-off's, i suspect they'll know the routine.

Have a great flight. Let us know what you thought of MRU and the flights. I suspect a number of V-Flyers will be considering MRU as a holiday destination this year.

Thanks,
Sarah

I suggest also that you do a search in the VS Trip Report section for posts by mdvipond who has travelled extensively with his now 2 year old daughter. You should be able to glean a few tips from him
