Any advice on this much appreciated - sorry it's not strictly VS- related but it's also relevant to a future trip I'm planning with Virgin and I imagine the same rules apply, regardless of carrier.

I'll be arriving at LHR from SIN at 19.10 (SQ) and flying on to Belfast at 13.20 the following day (BD) - spending the night and most of following morning at a Heathrow hotel. The flights are on the same booking and was wondering if it's possible, in principle, to check the luggage from SIN through to BHD, even though I'm not flying on to final destination until the next day?

It would make life easier not having to collect my main luggage and just having overnight essentials in hand luggage.

Ta!

Are your connecting flights to Belfast on the same booking as your SIN flight?

With regards to VS, the 'rule' is that only flights on the same booking can have baggage through-checked, or 'interlined'. See here for further information from the VS site. In practice, all bets are usually off at the airport. I'd have thought that as your flight isnt until the next day, that may present some issues.

I am sure anyone with experience of this with SQ will pass on their advice.

Thanks,
Sarah

Yes, the flights are on the same ticket, same booking reference - it was the time difference between the two flights that concerns me, combined with the fact that after I arrive in London there are three or four BMI flights departing for Belfast the following morning before my afternoon flight. I was thinking that there might be a rule that baggage can only be checked through onto the next available connecting flight.
