New Year to New York Sale?

Hi all!

Ok I realise this is a while off and there is no definate answer, but I am wondering what has happened previous years!
I seem to have been talked into taking some people who work for me to New York for this years Christmas Party, but over New Year, so heading out on the 27th December or there abouts and back just after New Year!
The fares available at the moment look to be the lowest normal fares available but I was wondering if anyone could remember if in previous years there had been sales reducing the fares! At the moment I think they would go economy but if Premium was to come down could all go that way! Upper seems to be at just over 2k at the moment although if it came down to 1-1.5k then i might consider it!
Anyone any thoughts as to what has happened previously! I am just wishing the Virgin Amex double miles offer had lasted longer!!

It is always very difficult to predict when any sales are going to be. VS have a few sales throughout the year, but often popular dates are often restricted.

I guess you to decide whether you are happy to pay the price now or play a waiting game, were you might strike lucky and get a good sale price or there might not be a sale and you could end up paying more than the price is now!

Christmas time is peak season to the travel industry so every much doubt there will be any sale fares happening. http://www.v-flyer.com/pages.asp?click=221&pageid=221 this was from last year and as you can see the travelling period excluded Christmas.

There will very likely be a sale starting around the 26th/27th December, as there is most years, and if i were a betting Lady I'd imagine the East Coast routes in PE would feature, but, as Neil says, its up to you whether you are prepared to wait and take the risk or just book the lowest fare showing now and secure the seats. The sale fares themselves will also depend on current loads so may or may not be as much of a bargain as previous years.
