I am a bit puzzled. I have been on Virgin Holidays to price up a Flydrive from Gatwick to MCO for two adults and one teen.

In the price breakdown it shows Discount 40 x 3 and discount(Ff) 30 x 2.

These are in addition to the usual online booking discount which is shown at the bottom and without giving any names or frequent virgin details or anything.

Please can anyone tell me what these discounts are and why they are there. I did telephone first of all and the discounts weren't on the quote over the phone.[?]

Am I being thick?, are you saying that I would get two lots of different discounts online.

The breakdown shows the usual online discount on it's own line which I obviously wouldn't expect to get over the phone but the:-

Discount £40 x 3 and discount(Ff) £30 x 2

is additional and shown on two different lines in the breakdown and why 3 times on one and only twice on the other?

I have never seen this before.

You could well get 2 sets of discount online. It might be something like an early booking discount etc.

They are doing another 10% off online promo again this Easter weekend so you wont be able to use your 10% FVC discount though but it might be worth trying to swap your FVC 10% discount for one of the other FVC perks they now offer instead (free transfers, free airport hotel or free parking) and see if they will add this to your booking as well. There's no harm in asking, they can only say no.

The only thing is though the T&C's state that once you give up your FVC 10% discount you can't get it back although there's no real loss for future bookings as there's nearly always a 10% online discount these days or you can use your 10% Flying Club discount instead.

Hmmm, thanks for that. Don't think I would give up my 10%, the perks aren't really of much use. Surprised to get two lots of discounts though, makes a change.[:)]

On one occasion with VH I had 'flight discounts' applied which would have saved a tidy sum, had I not upgraded to PE. When doing the upgrade I was told that the discount was the difference between an upgradeable class and 'N' (?).
