Just been told by VS reservations that our return flight VS201 23/02/2004 will now depart at 00.35 instead of 11.35 because its not allowed to land into LHR before 06.00.I do not know if this is a one off or a change in LHR policy.

There have always been restrictions on the number of aircraft that can be landed before 0600 local at Heathrow. When I've been on a flight expecting serious tailwinds, we've often delayed pushback or sat in the penalty box so that we arrive on schedule instead of early.
I think BST comes to effect the previous weekend, and as Hong Kong doesn't operate any daylight savings and stays the same all year round, this would result in the flight arriving an hour early throughout BST.
I'm guessing this could be the reason behind the change in departure time.
Cheers,
Mike

I see thanks for that, pity the check in does not open early in hkg last time I waited for an hour after arriving 4 hours before the flight and check opened to the second 3 hours before.I will have to stay in the club lounge at the ritz carlton a little longer.
