Interesting. Not the first time I have heard this either but will believe it when it's officially announced rather than via PPrune or cabincrew.com

So, yes, I saw this rumour somewhere else, also that ORD and Nairobi are to be axed, that more than one bag of crisps was going to be loaded for UC, that pigs fly faster than Concorde, that Steve Ridgeway had a 10' ... oops, the latter is plainly not true.

Let's hope it is a rumour - the story sounds fake however and few companies I know can think more than three months into the future.

PS Scrooge, is a post on a public forum on a Web site copyrighted material ... I think not?

Lol i'm sure it is GFM! But then again so were rumours about the IFBT's last summer and it appears they were right!

Other fabulous rumours doing the rounds at the moment are getting rid of J CSS, getting rid of seniors/juniors and having one combined role a la BA, serving more than a cookie for breakfast on East Coast Caribbean routes (wishful thinking on the last one i believe...)

I am going to refer you to this post link

Here is the problem, when a whole post is copied over from another site then yes it does become a copyright issue, the original author was not credited with the post which raises other issues, in the end it is easier and safer for the original post to be edited, leaving the link on the other site, so allowing our members to view it if they choose to join Pprune.

As a side note, my body clock says it's midnight, I should be asleep, so as a safe guard I have made copies of the original two posts, so that after a little discussion has been had amongst the mods, if it is not a breech then all post will be returned to their previous form.

We have just had a message from the head of cabin crew to assure us that there is absolutely no truth to the rumour that FSMs are to be axed.

Oh dear. Is that like when the Prime Minister says he has every confidence in one of his Cabinet? [;)][}:)]

Seriously, I hope it is true, there are more then enough doom and gloom stories circulating at the moment.

Unfortunately the internet is a great place to spread the rumours, regardless of how much truth there is or isn't in it. Each forum that carries the rumour tends to quote another forum, who quote another etc. etc. When you finally get to the start point (if ever) you find out chinese whisper hae gone mad..

I am firmly in the group that hopes this is not true, FSM's are there for a reason, they are put into that postion to ensure the cabins run smoothly, putting that job on to someone with less experience is not a good move IMHO.
