Hi all

I was thinking of booking the Heathrow Clubhouse for our trip in August, but just wanted to clarify a few things.

1, Would my wife be able to use the facilities in the clubhouse, have read reports where is stats that only UC/AG can use these, if that's the case, what's the point!

2, Are the facilities once in the clubhouse expensive? To quote VA's website, 'You can be pampered with a massage, manicure or a haircut, be served drinks and be tempted with our delicious menu'

Can you clarify what you mean by 'booking' the Clubhouse? Is that through Virgin Holidays?

Once you are in the Clubhouse, you can make use of everything and enjoy everything for free. Regardless of your status, flight or how you got it. If you're in, you can enjoy yourselves.

Hi Trev, I presume you mean the spa for your wife? It is supposed to be that only UC/Au (not Ag) passengers can pre-book treatments and for the rest it is down to availability. However as was seen with the recent Matterbox offer, non UC/Au were able to pre-book

Then I would say it's a great way to start your holiday - isn't it £60 each nowadays through VH?

To get the full pleasure, you may think about spending two or three hours there? This would include breakfast or lunch, spa treatment, relaxations, a spot of emailing, a cocktail or two at the bar ... etc. Amazing how easy it is to drink champagne with eggs benedict at breakfast time.

Oh, and for the brave, take your swimware and spend some time in the jacuzzi!

And yes, once you're in it's all inclusive!

Go for it, your wife will be seriously impressed (I always book the Collagen eye treatment and it never disappoints). However, the downside is everytime you fly from Heathrow after this trip, if you don't have access to the Clubhouse you will know what you are missing!

In the past it has only been available to those who booked a package through VH, but now it says that you only have to book a Virgin Atlantic flight through them. As VH don't do flight only deals, I assume this means it now includes Fly-Drives.

I know it used to have very limited availability for VH customers, and lots of people who tried to book it in the past were offered Servisair, which is only £19.95 per person.

It's also subject to availability. Limited a bit like the VS rewards. Have you tried the VH site to see if they say there's spaces available on your travel date?

The benefit of any T3 lounge is to escape the mobbed chaos that terminal can be. It's worthwhile popping out of the Clubhouse once you're in to see what you've spared yourself from before rushing back to tranquility. (although the clubhouse can get a bit crowded at certain times, but plenty of places to try and hide.)

Not sure if it helps but... CH access can also be bought with miles earned via the Flying Co programme. Entry costs, however, have recently increased from 5K to 10K miles.

which is LUDICROUS considering how much FCo miles cost to earn!

When did THAT happen???

So, F.Co miles accrue at 36% of normal miles (SFO earns 7,716 rather than 21,432 in Upper) and only on the top tier tickets (ie: J & D).

Taking the example of a J ticket (£6,000), that means a Clubhouse access voucher earned through FlyingCo. now 'costs' around £9k in previously purchased tickets [:0]

It is also 10K at Gatwick now, as well. See VS website.
