I know this has been posted a couple of times recently but i was just looking through the VA site and i noticed that they have the following jobs advertised:
a number of positions for Technician - LGW Hangar & Certifying Engineer

the thing i dont understand is that one of the requirements for the Technician is Must have A320 experience, A340 / B747-400 an advantage
and for the Certifying Engineer it is Holds a valid B2 licence with type ratings on A320/319 with AI V2500 &/or CFM56 engines, holding B747-400 with CF6-80C /A340-300 would be an advantage.

So my question is why would they need these as Virgin dont operate this type of aircraft?

Don't VS do maintenance for other airlines also?

I believe that they covered the GB Airways fleet (A320/321) which would fit with the job details athough that may have changed after EasyJet acquired the operations.

Yes we do engineering for other airlines so that's why we need those engineers with those fleet types.
