So this is my debate.

Am traveling with the GF in the summer to MCO and just trying to pre-select my seats.

Currently I can have two middle bank seats 46 F and G or two window seats 44 A and B.

Being a spotter I love sitting by the window but don't really want to have to climb over a stranger everytime I want the loo.

Any couples out their got any advice on what they find works best?

Look for the last 3 rows at the back on either side of the aircraft. These are rows of two seats and benefit from a tad more leg room.

I'm in the same predicament on a 2/3rds full 744. I've chosen D,E to avoid climbing over someone, but the layout really is awful for couples.

With the choices you have available I would personally go for 2 of the middle 4 as you are certain to have an aisle free. Apart from takeoff and landing there isn't much too see out of the window anyways!

The other option for you is to choose the aisle and middle (or aisle/window) of a 3 and hope that the flight is full and nobody wants to sit on their next to you two. If you leave the aisle seat free then a family of 5 could choose a middle for and your aisle!

The 744 is rubbish for couples. As it is for families of five (as I often found out when younger).

I have gone for 46 F and G on the outbound and 36 B and C on the inbound.

Does anyone know how on earth you get the two rows of Y behind the PE section on the LGW 744? IS it a case of early bird catches the worm?

I am praying to God that I do not have the same chav that Neil had sat in front of him on his recent MCO trip, if I do I feel I will be tempted to hit the little begger.

I believe I will be following Neil's school of thought, I have already told the GF (thanks to VF) that this will be our last Long Haul trip in Y. Especially as I have just got off the phone with VH having booked our LGW CH passes! I feel there is noway back now.

We used to find adjacent aisle seats (eg C & D) best for couples - you then can both get out.
Also it seems that (perhaps as few want the centre seat) these quite often have empty seats alongside - single pax in A - if the load is light.

Pretty much, only available at the airport and then usually held back for families with babies/disabled etc. On both our MCO flights there were at least 2 babies in that section so I would avoid at all costs as it could be noisy!

Give him one from me if he is there[:(!]

This site is a nightmare for making you spend money. First PE, then CC's, then UCS, then even more expensive CC's, expensive hotels I had never even heard of before this site, the list is just endless[ii]
