Hello

My first post!

We're flying club silver members and have the VA Amex and have the free upgrades to PE. We've booked flights using miles to Dubai and I've been checking daily for the PE return reward flights to become available. They haven't yet!

Anyway, I sent an email to VA to complain about the lack of availability of these Reward Flights, you can go out but can't get back for over a month and they replied saying

'We encourage members to look online for reward seats using our Enhanced Fare Search within our Flying Club website section, which has been available since last September. This shows a matrix of redemption seat availability by cabin, route and date, and is updated daily'

Now I always login and go to book flights and search that way, is that not the way to do it?

I'd ask VA but they take 28 days to reply!

Any help to point me in the direction of Enhanced Fare Search would be much appreciated.

The enhanced fare grid is explained on the Virgin Atlantic website here.

I must confess I wasn't aware of the ability to search for reward fares. [?]

I always ring the Flying Club to get reward availability, so it isn't something I have had to use before.

Edit: Having just had a play around with it - the system looks very good - if your dates are not available, it gives the closest alternatives - unless, of course you look for UC reward seats to MCO. [8D]

All you do is log into your FC account and go to the normal 'book flights' page on the Virgin Website

Insert your destination, dates and class of travel, then populate the 'Spend miles' field. Couldn't be simpler really.
